GRAMMY Award-winning American soprano Renée Fleming brings her album Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene to life on-stage with the NAC Orchestra.
She will present a new, live, multi-media performance piece, with an original film created for this performance by the National Geographic Society. Fleming sings music ranging from Handel and Björk to The Lord of the Rings, with stunning videos captured in locations from the Amazon rainforest to Yosemite, addressing humankind’s complicated relationship with nature.
Guest pianist and Easter Island native Mahani Teave makes her Ottawa debut to perform Manuel de Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain, evoking the nocturnal beauty of nature.
Acclaimed Hindustani violinist Kala Ramnath plays Concerto for Hindustani Violin, which she co-wrote with Indian American composer Reena Esmail to explore the elements of earth, water, fire, air, and sky.
