A multitalented artist, Sébastien Ricard divides his time between acting, singing and political activism. On stage, he has given brilliant performances of demanding roles in several plays directed by Brigitte Haentjens, his loyal artistic colleague since 2007. Their next creation is devoted to the bewitching mystery of the words of the Austro-Hungarian poet Georg Trakl and his anthology Rêve et folie (“Dream and Delirium”). Sébastien describes the work with passion.

Sébastien Ricard divides his time between acting, singing (he is a founding member of the band Loco Locass) and political activism. For theatre, he has given masterful performances in several productions directed by Brigitte Haentjens for Sibyllines, including Shakespeare’s Richard III, Brecht and Weill’s L’opéra de quat’sous (The Threepenny Opera), Koltès’ La nuit juste avant les forêts, Büchner’s Woyzeck, and Vivre, based on the writings of Virginia Woolf, all of which were also presented at the NAC. For film, he played Dédé Fortin in Jean‑Philippe Duval’s Dédé à travers les brumes and gave memorable performances in various films such as Rodrigue Jean’s L’acrobate, François Girard’s Hochelaga, terre des âmes, François Delisle’s Chorus, Jimmy Larouche’s Antoine et Marie, and Catherine Martin’s Une jeune fille. In 2020, he created, with Brigitte Haentjens Pour en finir avec Octobre? an eight episodes podcast produced by Sybillines and the Scène nationale du son.
Sébastien Ricard partage son talent entre le jeu, la chanson (il est membre fondateur du groupe Loco Locass) et l’investissement politique. Au théâtre, il a tenu de façon magistrale des rôles exigeants dans plusieurs créations de la compagnie Sibyllines, dirigée par Brigitte Haentjens : Richard III de Shakespeare, L’opéra de quat’sous de Brecht et Weill, La nuit juste avant les forêts de Koltès, Woyzeck de Büchner et Vivre, d’après Virginia Woolf; elles ont toutes été présentées au CNA au cours des dernières années. Au cinéma, il a incarné Dédé Fortin dans Dédé à travers les brumes de Jean-Philippe Duval. Il s’est aussi fait remarquer dans les films L’acrobate de Rodrigue Jean, Hochelaga, terre des âmes de François Girard, Chorus de François Delisle, Antoine et Marie de Jimmy Larouche et Une jeune fille de Catherine Martin. Plus récemment, il a créé, en collaboration avec Brigitte Haentjens, le balado Pour en finir avec Octobre? réalisé par la Scène nationale du son.
