Sink into some seriously relaxing weekend vibes as you experience intimate performances from some of your favorite NACO musicians. Surrounded by the architectural marvels of the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre — revered for its top-notch acoustics — you'll feast on a program of musical delights from around the world.

Ludwig Spohr's Nonet for strings and winds gives each instrument the chance to showcase its unique voice and character. This work of lyrical beauty also inspired compositions of the same size and structure from two Eastern European composers featured on this program, Bohuslav Martinů's Nonet and George Enescu's Dectet for Winds.

Osvaldo Golijov also offers an homage to the music of his native Argentina — specifically the sensual spirit of the Buenos Aires tango. Evoking, in his words, the "eroticism of legs and torsos in the dance" and the "melancholy of the singer's voice," Golijov's Last Round for nine string players celebrates the tango revolution of the 20th century with music of heat and energy.
