Ottawa’s Austin Wu is no stranger to the NAC. In his second season with the NACO Mentorship Program, and with a history of participating in as many NACO professional development programs as he could, he is making his way through his Master of Music at McGill University with Andrew Wan.

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Austin Wu started playing the violin at the age of five, studying with, Leslie Wade, Serhii Vyhovskyi, and Elaine Klimasko. He has participated in various music festivals such as Orford Music Academy, Domaine Forget, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, the National Arts Center Orchestra Mentorship Program, and the Tanglewood music center. In 2022, Austin obtained a bachelor’s degree in music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Grigory Kalinovsky. Currently, he is completing his master’s of music at McGill university with Andrew Wan.
Originaire d’Ottawa, Austin Wu commence à jouer du violon à l’âge de cinq ans, étudiant auprès de Leslie Wade, Serhii Vyhovskyi et Elaine Klimasko. Il participe à divers festivals de musique, comme à l’Académie Orford Musique, au Domaine Forget, au programme de l’Orchestre national des jeunes du Canada, au String Orchestra Seminar, à New York, au Programme de mentorat de l’Orchestre du Centre national des Arts et au Centre de musique Tanglewood. En 2022, il obtient un baccalauréat en musique à l’École de musique Jacobs de l’Université de l’Indiana, sous la supervision de Grigory Kalinovsky. Il poursuit actuellement des études de maîtrise en musique auprès d’Andrew Wan à l’Université McGill.
